Some Raw Food Recipes

Annie’s Veggie Slaw

  • carrots
  • celery
  • almonds
  • shredded coconut
  • cinnamon

Put all in food processor until desired blended-ness. Top with raisins if desired.

Annie’s Sweet Potato Slaw

  • sweet potato peeled and roughly chopped
  • raisins
  • almonds
  • coconut pieces

Put all in food processor. Add a dash of agave nectar or cinnamon if desired for even more sweetness.

Soy Celery

Mix all up.

Variety Salad

  • green cabbage
  • parsley
  • green onion
  • shallots
  • romaine lettuce
  • alfalfa sprouts
  • cherry tomatoes
  • olive oil (optional)
  • desired spices to taste

Spirulina Banana Cream

  • 1 frozen (peeled before frozen) banana
  • 1 tsp spirulina powder
  • sprinkle of flaxseeds
  • sprinkle of chi seeds
  • 1 cup hazelnut milk

Put all in food processor or blender until smooth. Add raisins, nuts, shredded coconut, cinnamon, etc. if desired.

Squash Pasta

  • zucchini or butternut squash, turned into noodles using a spiralizer
  • sun dried tomatoes
  • cherry tomatoes, halved
  • olive oil
  • basil
  • Ramesan
  • pine nuts

Toss together or use all the topping ingredients to make a chunky sauce instead, using a food processor briefly.

Bok Choy Leek Mix

  • baby bok choy, chopped, leaves removed
  • leeks sliced and soaked in truffle oil for a few hours
  • pine nuts

Toss together. Add olive oil if desired or additional truffle oil (use sparingly) and mix well.

Oriental Broccoli – from Rawsome by Brigitte Mars

  • 2 dates soaked for 20 minutes
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1 tsp graded gingerroot
  • 1/4 cup nama shoyu (you can use reduced sodium soy sauce, Bragg’s Liquid Aminos, or tamari)
  • 1 tsp toasted sesame oil (optional … not raw)
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 4 cups chopped broccoli
  • 1/4 cup sesame seeds

Combine all except broccoli and sesame seeds in a blender and puree. Combine broccoli and seeds together and stir. Pour puree over broccoli and toss.

Beetnik – from Rawsome by Brigitte Mars

  • 2 cups grated beets
  • 2 TBS nama shoyu
  • 2 tsp grated gingerroot
  • 1 tsp lemon juice

Combine all and toss well.

Cauliflower Couscous – from RAWvolution by Matt Amsden

  • 2 heads cauliflower finely ground in food processor
  • 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1 cup olive oil
  • 1 TBS + 1 tsp black pepper
  • 3/4 tsp sea salt
  • 1 bunch fresh parsley minus stems
  • 1 bunch fresh mint minus stems
  • 1 bunch fresh cilantro minus stems
  • 13-oz jar greek olives, pitted

Combine all thoroughly.

Russian Dressing – from Rawsome by Brigitte Mars

  • 3 dates soaked for 20 minutes
  • 1 cup chopped tomato
  • 1/4 cup olive oil + 1/4 cup water or almond milk
  • 1/2 cup lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp Celtic salt
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 clove garlic

Combine all in blender or food processor until smooth.

Sweet & Sour Sauce – from Rawsome by Brigitte Mars (I modified a bit)

  • 1/2 cup dates
  • 1/3 cup apricot jam
  • 1 tsp mustard powder
  • 1 tsp minced ginger
  • 1/3 cup orange juice
  • 1/8 cup Bragg’s liquid aminos (or soy sauce)
  • 1/8 cup flaxseeds

Put all in blender and puree.
