What I Learned From My Homeopath

  1. Eat three meals a day instead of snacking frequently all day. This is because when we put time between meals we are giving the digestive system time to recuperate and rest. If you are regularly bombarding it with bits of food all day this rest won’t get to occur. This is going to be hard for me to change. For years I have been a grazer.
  2. Eat more raw food. I actually experimented with this in the last few weeks by keeping a food journal. I noticed that when I ate even a combo of raw and cooked foods, my energy levels dropped in the afternoon and I also wasn’t able to stay awake past 8:30pm. If I had a very small percentage of raw food in a day, I’d be crashing by 6:30pm and would sleep solid until 6am the next morning. On the days I was able to consume at  least 90% raw foods, not only did I not have my 2-o’clock slump time, but I stayed up almost until 10pm and still wasn’t all that tired as I made myself lie down for bedtime! It was awesome. It still is awesome since I am sticking to it now!
  3. Eating cooked food and non-vegan items before bedtime will negatively influence your dreams. Dreams will become calmer and happier when you put more time between your last meal of the day and your bedtime [and the meal can’t be large; and should be raw & vegan].
  4. Your largest meal of the day should be lunch. The smallest is breakfast because our stomach shrinks in the night and you want to ease it out gently as you “break” your “fast.” Dinner should be medium sized. Not as big as lunch.
  5. Follow the eating habits as suggested in The China Study and you will cure your ailments, including disease and cancer. Sounds too good to be true but that is because science and medicine have a strong financial hold over all of us. The media also has much control over our outdated nutritional ideas, which is where most of peoples’ false reasoning about meat and dairy being absolutely essential in every diet come from. As The China Study becomes more well known, more and more schools will change their curriculum to reflect the new findings. Things are slow to change, however (depends on money and politics), so it will still be a while before your doctor or nurse has more than a single class in nutrition (and probably even longer before that nutrition class accurately provides information about links between diet and health). The schools that are already changing are the ones who aren’t tied financially to supporting medicine. He says that ivy league schools are corrupt and that others have argued that those schools already have been corrupt for a while, but are more so now.
  6. When studies found that vaccines too early in an infant’s life caused SIDS, Japan made a new rule that pushed back the age requirement that a kid can get his first vaccine. SIDS episodes virtually disappeared in Japan after that. Yet in the US, doctors are pushing harder than ever nowadays for vaccines. Why? Because vaccines are huge money makers. Noticing a pattern here? People in power are not there to look out for us, remember that! They are there for the bottom line.
  7. During the war when rich food wasn’t available and soldiers had to live on produce and grains because there wasn’t any meat or dairy, instances of many diseases and illnesses went away during exactly the amount of time that that food wasn’t available. Then war ended and those diseases began again.

    Very interesting! I find the study relating to the soldiers very compelling evidence for a plant based diet. I had read about that in “Forks Over Knives” as well. Thank you for keeping us enlightened!
